Improving Your Farming Operation is Only a Sign-Up Away

Apply now for a cost-share program to help you plan for spring planting and grazing

RICHMOND, December 20, 2005-- Only three more weeks left to apply for cost-share to improve grazing systems, reduce erosion, install animal waste facilities and address other resource concerns.  January 13, 2006 is the last day to sign-up for the Environmental Quality Incentives Program (EQIP).

Eligible producers may receive between 35 to 75 percent cost share for fencing, proper irrigation, and applying nutrient management plans, continuous no-till and other conservation practices.  These practices can help reduce costs while ensuring that all land uses are properly managed for a successful farm operation.

To apply for EQIP, producers should contact their local Natural Resources Conservation Service office and schedule an appointment to discuss resource needs and conservation problems.  Applications can be completed and signed at this time.

More information on EQIP is available on our programs page.
